EXCLUSIVE: Trump’s Pollster Found Voters Were Highly Concerned About Vaccines. The Poll Never Saw Daylight
An unreleased poll appears to undermine the White House’s stated rationale for pivoting away from policies that inflame pharmaceutical companies. The Daily Caller News Foundation obtained a secret poll conducted in October 2025 by President Donald Trump’s longtime pollster Tony Fabrizio finding that 73% of voters expressed concern about childhood vaccine mandates, while a whopping 90% of voters expressed concern about the pharmaceutical industry’s corrupting influence.
The October poll was never released. White House officials in media reports have instead cited a more limited poll Fabrizio conducted a month later concluding the issue is a political loser to justify Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s election-year pivot to food policy.
The shift away from vaccines at Kennedy’s health department culminated last week in the termination of the lead author of the Trump administration’s policy on the childhood vaccination schedule.
Big Tobacco Comes Out On Top After U.S. FDA Shake-Up
The U.S. FDA’s new, looser regulation of new vapes and nicotine pouches will potentially unleash hundreds more such products on the market in the coming weeks and months, according to three current and former Trump administration officials. The Food and Drug Administration said earlier this month it will use ‘enforcement discretion’ to look the other way when manufacturers sell unauthorized vaping products as long as their license applications meet certain standards. It had for years required a pre-marketing authorization for the products, partly to limit youth vape access.
The Trump Administration’s swift policy change — announced days before FDA Commissioner Marty Makary resigned — circumvented months of public comment typical for such sweeping changes, two former FDA tobacco chiefs said, and raised questions about the risk to public health and consumers.
Tobacco executives have aggressively lobbied President Donald Trump for change, including in a meeting earlier this month where they argued that the FDA’s previous policy allowed a vast illegal market of mostly Chinese vapes, according to one of the officials briefed on the meeting.
Ebola Outbreak Live Updates: WHO Says Deadly Virus Is Spreading Faster Than They Can Stop It
The deadly outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda is spreading faster than efforts to contain it, the World Health Organization warned Monday. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said those responding to the epidemic were “playing catch-up” because of delays in detecting cases. The WHO confirmed that the latest number of suspected deaths stood at 220, with more than 900 suspected cases. Tedros said the epidemic was likely to get worse before it gets better.
His comments come after the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention warned Saturday that 10 African countries were at risk from the worsening outbreak: Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, the Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Zambia.
The WHO raised its risk assessment for DRC to “very high” on Friday. In neighboring Uganda, seven cases have been confirmed in people who traveled from DRC.
On Friday, the United States temporarily banned green-card holders from entering the country if they had been in DRC, Uganda or South Sudan in the previous 21 days. U.S. citizens, nationals and green card holders had previously been exempt from a 30-day ban.
CDC and WHO Say US C-Section Rate Is Too High
The U.S. has about 10,000 births per day, and about 32% of those births are via cesarean section, or C-section. If that number feels high for you, you’re not alone. The World Health Organization says the acceptable rate is only 10-15%. Preparing for before, during, and after birth are all lengthy decisions a mother needs to make with her care team. But there’s one decision that may not get as much time.
“There are certain instances where the only safe way to deliver the baby is a C-section,” said Rita Ellen Eye, OB/GYN, physician & owner of Premier OB-Gyn. A C-section is when the baby is delivered through the lower part of the abdomen, with an incision through the skin & uterus to remove the baby safely. “One fairly common reason that a C-section might need to happen would be if the baby is not in a good position to deliver vaginally,” Dr. Eye told Ivanhoe.
The biggest reason for C-sections right now is fetal distress, which is picked up by fetal monitoring. “Rather than risk the baby not being able to be delivered safely, then very often we’ll suggest, you know what, let’s do a C-section to get the baby out safely,” Dr. Eye explained.
EPA Announces $39M to PA. For PFAS in Drinking Water While Rolling Back PFAS Limits
In the same week that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced that it would give Pennsylvania more than $39 million to address PFAS contamination in drinking water, the agency also said it would roll back PFAS regulations. PFAS, also known as perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are a group of thousands of chemicals used in consumer goods, including stain-resistant rugs, waterproof clothing, nonstick pans and firefighting foam.
They’re called “forever chemicals” because they don’t break down, accumulating in the environment, including waterways, and the human body. PFAS are linked to developmental delays in children, some cancers, and other health issues. PFAS were found in 76% of rivers and streams around Pennsylvania surveyed by the U.S. Geological Survey. They have contaminated drinking supplies in the Lehigh Valley, and “alarming levels” of PFAS from the Pittsburgh International Airport were found to be discharging into the Montour Run watershed.
“Addressing them is not optional. It is essential to making America healthy again,” said EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin. He was joined at a roundtable event this week with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy, Jr., who brought the Make America Healthy Again movement into Trump’s voting base.
