And from the NYT: A sweeping bill that would create business-friendly rules for cryptocurrencies stalled in the Senate on Tuesday, a major blow to the crypto industry’s plans in Washington.
The Senate voted to block consideration of the Clarity Act, a landmark piece of legislation that was shaped by crypto executives over months of negotiations with Congress and the White House. The bill passed in the House last year, but it has faced numerous delays in the Senate.
The vote on Tuesday was a stinging defeat for the industry that makes it unlikely the legislation will pass anytime soon — if ever. With the midterm elections coming up in November, the window to advance it is closing rapidly, despite more than $100 million in political spending by the industry.
While many Republicans embraced the bill, Democrats largely opposed it. Many of their concerns centered on President Trump, who generated $1.4 billion from a network of crypto businesses last year. Democrats wanted stronger language to prevent the president and other public officials from using crypto to make money.

But it was just announced that two former, prominent polititicians have been hired as lobbyists to push the BioSecurity Agenda along. We need to be very observant about where this is going and make every effort we can to defund the biosecurity program.

FOUR “measles” deaths—and all in Pennsylvania, where the Governor, Josh Shapiro, hopes to achieve national office. What is going on?
Well, death 1 was actually due a ruptured spleen in a newborn. This is very hard to survive. The medical examiner said the spleen was not enlarged and did not have the appearance of being affected by measles.
Death 2 was associated with measles, in a baby that had a serious genetic disorder that causes death, in any event, by six months of age. Measles may have shortened the baby’s life by weeks.
Death 3 occurred in a 40 year old woman who is said to have been unvaccinated but had respiratory failure, was on oxygen 24/7, and was not expected to live long. Measles can lead to viral pneumonia, but no one has said that she had that.

In this woman’s case, the immediate cause of death was respiratory failure “due to suspected measles,” according to a preliminary death certificate viewed by The Times. Mr. Furlong said that testing had not yet confirmed the woman had measles, though she had many of the symptoms of the virus — including the telltale rash that often starts as flat red spots on the face and travels down the body — and had recently been exposed to someone with measles. A nasal swab will be sent to the state laboratory to be tested for measles, Mr. Furlong said.
The woman had several chronic medical conditions that made her vulnerable to severe complications from measles. She had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or C.O.P.D., and was on 24/7 supplemental oxygen.
The state health department has not included the death in its official tally but has been in close contact with Mr. Furlong, he said.
The 4th death in Pennsylvania has just been announced today. The available information is sketchy. While authorities said they will release no more information due to privacy concerns, there is no privacy act protection after death. So this looks like the PA authorities do not want any more of us looking over their shoulders and disputing their findings. The below is what I could gleen from Gemini:
Demographics & Location: The individual was an 18-year-old resident of Mifflin County in central Pennsylvania.
Vaccination Status: State health officials confirmed that the teenager was unvaccinated against measles.
Specific Cause of Death: Following an investigation and medical record review, Mifflin County Coroner Andrea L. Alcalde officially determined the cause of death to be Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM), ruling the manner of death as Natural.
Medical Context (ADEM): ADEM is an immune-mediated inflammatory disease that attacks the central nervous system (primarily damaging the myelin coating of nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord). While it can occasionally follow various viral infections, it is a recognized, severe neurological complication of measles infection. [It can also be a complication of vaccinations—Nass]
Investigation & Public Health Status: Officials have not released the exact date of death, nor have they publicly tied the teenager directly to the recent measles exposure notice issued for the ALDI supermarket on Freedom Avenue in Burnham (which occurred on Sept. 3). The Mifflin County Coroner’s Office indicated that no further personal details will be made public out of respect for the family.
The bottom line is that it appears that all 4 people would not have been expected to live very long from their underlying conditions. Measles (like flu) could have been the thing that tipped over #2 and #3. Measles did not kill any healthy person in the US this year, and to my knowledge has not killed a healthy person in the US since the last century.
